August 2006 Hand Gun Retention Seminar
Thanks to all for the successful Knife combat and tactics seminars that were held this year at Western Illinois Shotokan and Jujitsu dojo (WISK). Due to the Success of this program and the request of those training in Law Enforcement at Western Illinois University , WISK will be offering a Hand Gun retention program for these student and Law Enforcement officials.

July 2006 Keeran and Watchendorf First in Duo Competition
Our congratulations go out to Kaleb Keeran and Justin Watchendorf for their outstanding performance at the National Jujistu Championship in Ohio. These gentlemen took the national championship again in Duo competition for the second time in two years.



Their practice, dedication, and determination were shown towards this competition, have qualified them for the world championships to represent the USA, that will be held later this year in Rotterdam.



These two gentlemen live and train out of Macomb, Il, USA. There Martial Arts training consist of many years in Shotokan Karate and Kudo kan Jujitsu and excellent assistan instructors. Their coaches include Shihan Edward Kuras out of Macomb, Hanshi George Anderson out of Akron, Ohio, Ben Deleon the US team Jujitsu Coach of Wisconsin, Hanshi George Vance of Bushnell, IL and many other that could be named.

Both are looking forward to competing this fall.
July 2006 Keeran and Watchendorf Best Tournament Technique


Our congratulations again go out to Kaleb Keeran and Justin Watchendorf for their outstanding performance at the National Jujistu Championship in Ohio. These two Martial Artists received the award for the Best technique in competition for the whole tournament executing a not one but two perfect Soto Makikomi(Outer Wrap Around throw) in Duo Competition. The award its self usually goes to competitors that are fighting in the Randori competition and this was the first time it was ever given out to Duo competition competitors.

July 2006 Hooser fairs well at the Nationals
Our congratulations go out to Ginny Hooser for her performance at the National Karate Championships that was recently held in Florida. She took a second place in the Kumite competition in the Junior Black Belt division and the Female Adult Black Belt Open Kumite contest she took an over all third.

Miss Hooser has been training Shotokan karate for many years and has become a fine instructor in Macomb, Il. Miss Hooser has been on the Junior World Karate Team representing the US in 2005, which took First in the world for Team Kumite, and was also included on the Women’s Senior World Karate Team, which took a Second.

Miss Hooser trains under Shihan Edward Kuras out of Macomb, Il. She is now attending college with the intentions of training, teaching and competing.
March 2006 Husband recieves 4th Degee Black Belt
Donald Husband of Carthage, IL recieved his 4th degree black belt in Karate. Mr. Husband has been training for nearly 27 years in the Martial Arts and has attained ranking in other Martial Art. He has been training under Shihan Ed Kuras for over 20 years in shotokan and has been His assistant instructor for nearly 19 years.

'This has been on of my many goals for as far back as I can remember, and hopefully is an example to the students I have taught and known over the years that they can reach goals that are set before them," said after recieving his rank.

Sensei Husband says he plans to train and teach as long as the Lord allows him the grace to do so.
